Vectis Road Skate Park

The skate park is open all the time with floodlights provided during the winter months. It has also been recently been rennovated (2025) and is the first concrete skatepark on the Isle of Wight.

Bumble Bee Garden

Located in Beatrice Avenue across the road from Queensgate Primary School this lovely play area and garden was created in memory of Keziah Flux-Edmonds and features a range of play equipment and a lovely archway above the entrance designed by her friends.

Community Orchard

Our community orchard located at the bottom of Jubilee Recreational Grounds is a recognised biodiversity hotspot, home to rare unimproved grassland and over 28 species of plants and wildlife, including the endangered stag beetle. Thanks to local volunteers and careful management, this space is thriving as a haven for nature in the heart of East Cowes.

Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)

Located in Vectis Road the MUGA is named after Morris Barton OBE who served East Cowes and the Isle of Wight as a councillor for many years. It is open 24 hours a day and is provided with timer controlled floodlighting.

Outdoor Gym Area

Located in Beatrice Avenue the outdoor gym equipment was installed in 2017 in conjunction with the Isle of Wight Council. It is open 24 hours a day and includes disabled facilities.

Victoria Recreation Ground

Located in Victoria Grove and with a marked out football pitch and goalposts this area is also a great space for exercising your dog. The Netflix bench from ‘Afterlife’ can be found at the top near Vectis Road.

Jubilee Recreation Ground Play Area

Located in York Avenue the play area has equipment for all age groups. The Recreation Ground is also the site of the Romanov Monument and the Queen Victoria and Prince Albert Bi-centennial Bench.
The monument and bench are currently under the control of and are the responsibility of the Isle of Wight Council.

Cadets Walk Garden

This is a restful place with wild plants and benches. This is located at the end of Vectis Road.
